Here’s what our Learning Support Workers and Tutors say about working with us:
-
Working for HTS has been very rewarding experience for me. I have found the students allocated to me have been a good fit to my skills and abilities. Communication between me and the office staff is swift, informative and respectful. I have loved the flexibility of working with HTS and this is an advantage for me, as it fits around my other commitments very well. All in, a professional organisation.

HTS have been responsive to any issues I have raised and there has been a positive approach to ensure a solution. I had one concern about a student last year – the office was very quick to respond and I felt supported straight away. Overall, I find you all really quick to respond to any query which can sometimes be important when it comes to attending to a client’s need, so a big thank you for that. All in all, I really enjoy the role as Mental Health Mentor, especially the opportunity to work long term with people who may not be able to afford support by their own means.

I have enjoyed working with Home Tuition Scotland over the last year. HTS have allocated me a range of students across a variety of courses and institutions and the work has been rewarding as I have met some wonderful learners and worked closely with them to pursue their educational goals. Liaising with HTS has been amicable and uncomplicated and communication, has always been prompt. It has been reassuring to know that there are staff available to advise on issues which occasionally crop up with students. I am looking forward to meeting new learners this year and for many years to come.

I have worked in education for 7 years and now with HTS for what will now be my third year. During this time I have supported many students across various courses and stages. While I can hand on heart sing the praises of HTS in terms of the induction process, their professionalism and the duty of care shown to their students, I can also honestly say that this has been a most rewarding and enjoyable role for me.

A full induction process helps get the year started and sets out expectations and roles in a clear manner. The way work is arranged is very flexible and fits in very well with my other commitments and I am free to accept or decline clients if scheduling does not work or there is any other reason I am unable to support a student – for example if they needed specific support with a condition I am not trained for. I cannot express strongly enough just how rewarding this work is. We work with students from such a wide range of backgrounds and with a wide range of complex needs and to help support these students throughout their learning journey makes this work both vital and exciting and we can make a very real difference to people’s learning experience

I have been working for Home Tuition for around four years now and the job has been invaluable in terms of fitting in with my own studies and my own creative work. The support they offer is second to none and I can always raise someone when I need to, since the beginning of the current Covid crisis the back office team have been there for all and any enquiries I have had and are very fast to respond. I very much enjoy working with HTS. I have always found the staff to be helpful, supportive and responsive. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from working with my students and hope that I deliver a good service. I particularly appreciate the support from HTS when tricky situations arise, and the patience when timesheets etc need to be amended by me! It’s also very much appreciated that monthly payments are always processed on time, which helps to contribute to a sense of being valued by HTS.

I’ve enjoyed the 3 years I’ve worked with HTS. It’s all the good things about teaching without the stress of prep, marking etc. I like that it’s flexible working hours so I can fit support in around what’s convenient for me. There’s no pressure to take on people if it’s too much or not convenient. My wellbeing has improved immensely going into a support role with HTS and I enjoy working in education again.

The HTS team have always been nothing but helpful to me. They provide clear boundaries/expectations, and if I have a concern/question the team are always responsive either within the same day or next (they also inform that staff members are part time and that must be taken into consideration, with respect!) I have previously supported the reinstatement of the what’s app group. It isn’t regularly used however I like the fact that if I needed to ask someone for advice/question then there is a forum just waiting from the support from many workers, and there is always a response. I really like the fact that if I have a question a group of people is just a forum away. The admin/management team are also responsive to an email. I enjoy working as a study skills tutor and promote HTS!

My experience working for HTS has been positive from the beginning. From the moment of the interview they have always been very attentive and organised. The communication with the College is very good and the initial meeting allows you to solve any problems you may have. The timesheet is a bit confusing at first, although the extensive handbook is very useful. Also, if you make a mistake, they help you by sending you the correct timesheet for the following week. They are always very understanding.

I am enjoying the work and experience working for HTS. The work is very rewarding and engaging. It took me a bit of time to get used to the admin as I had to do weekly timesheets prior to the approval of SAAS funding, which is understandable. I think I am there now. I find the newsletter informative and very useful. I have just freed up more availability to accommodate additional students so looking forward to doing more.
